However; is there anything morally wrong with making a joke that capitalises on, exploits and often even laughs at and makes the butt of people’s extreme pain and psychological torture? Pain that is shared by at least 1/12 of the population, but likely much more? Pain that still is ignored, erased and belittled by the media, the police and other institutions of power?

You ever think that maybe- just maybe- this belligerent refusal to take into account the damage that is caused by rape jokes and other harmful humour is less about what is actually funny, and maybe more about ensuring that certain sections of society know that y’all don’t have to give a fuck about us, what we say, or even our safety.
