Dude. :( We are not-reading buddies. I only read twenty books last year. That’s not even one every other week. /sigh
Arugh! It’s the worst thing :(
On the plus side I’ve started reading 11/22/63 by Stephan King and whilst King is a total mixed bag in terms of me liking his books (you’re a writer, not a storyteller, King and your pacing can be PAINFULLY AWFUL [seugway- he’s kind of the exact opposite of JKR for me. She always struck me as a storyteller but not so much a writer; the soul of the stories she was telling shone through her often pretty bad/amateur writing, whereas King’s writing is gorgeous, his word smithery great, but often his stories simply don’t have the soul that they should. Hence why his shorts are, for me, the best: his writing really shines through and the story is just the length it needs to be, instead of some 200,000 word masturbation fest]) and I’m not reading this at anything like speed I once would have, I am at least reading it and doing so pretty fast. Part of that is probably that it’s an engaging book, but I’m hopeful for any sign of a break in the clouds.

this is what i say about king when i tell people i love him! they say his books are shit and i’m like “but his writing ;_;”. also his dark tower series is actually p good re: story, and makes a lot of his other books way more interesting
